Yountville Getaway

One of my favorite places in the world to relax and unwind is Yountville. It's such a quaint, sleepy little town with so much to offer from restaurants and wineries to luxury hotels and spas. I was able to find a great deal for the Vintage Inn, sister property of the Villagio Inn & Spa, so jumped on it immediately for a quick two day weekend trip. It was the perfect amount of time to enjoy a handful of wineries and the adorable town of Yountville.
Here are a few shots of the scenery at the Vintage Inn. I've been here several times now and am always impressed with the amenities, which include free wine tasting passes, an insanely good champagne brunch, access to the indulgent Villagio spa and a complimentary bottle of wine (goes well by the fireplace or in the big jacuzzi tub!).
Our first stop on our wine tour was Domaine Chandon. Although the place itself a bit commercial, the champagne is delicious and I always enjoy some good bubbles. We sat outside on a large patio with the autumn leaves and sun all around us.
Next up was a stop at one of my favorite lunch spots when wine tasting: V. Sattui. They have a really great deli inside the tasting room where you can order sandwiches and salads to take outside and enjoy on picnic benches. We got the chicken and pesto sandwich and turkey cranberry along with a golden beet salad. If you're in the mood for BBQ, they usually have several stations going on weekends.
The last stop on our tour was my absolute favorite winery, Rombauer. You really can't beat their chardonnay or any of their red wines...not to mention that view of the valley. Jim and I are members of the wine club and it's really a great investment as you get free tastings anytime you go up there for up to four people.
We spent Sunday leisurely brunching at the Villagio. Since it's a sister property of the Vintage Inn, you can go to either hotel for brunch. I love the views here on the patio with the vineyards in the background.
Here's the full breakfast spread...all the pastries, cheeses, oatmeal, yogurts and fruit you could imagine. And outside on the patio, you can have a waffle or omelette made fresh just for you.
Before heading over to the spa for a steam, we lounged by the pool for a bit. As you can see, it's a very zen space where you can just let your thoughts go.
I've already booked our next trip there and cannot wait to go! Until next time, Napa...
