To Be Wed

I'm so excited to share a few of my favorite wedding photos! Our photographer, Shanni Weilert and her husband Blaine, did a beautiful job capturing the essence of the day and our relationship. I get so giddy  looking back and the photos...I feel like I'm right back there living each smile, each embrace, each tear. It was one of the most emotional days of my life; it is such a defining moment and it's so wonderfully overwhelming to be able to share it with everyone you love, knowing that they are there to support you. It was also one of the most fun days...from getting ready with my best friends and family to the heartfelt toasts to the crazy dance party that ensued later that evening.

I'll post some of the details on planning and decorations later on, but for now, here are some of my fave photos.

We've Arrived

Touched down in London earlier this morning after the long flight and we're now in Reading. It's a quaint little town with an excellent downtown shopping area and really friendly people. I'll share more details on our outing today soon!

So Long, San Francisco!

It's hard to believe we leave tomorrow. Although I have mixed emotions, I know this is going to be an incredible adventure for us and we're so lucky to have this opportunity!

To all my family and San Francisco friends, I already miss you. Follow along as we cross the pond!

Flat Vision

One wonderful thing about moving which helps distract from the tedious parts is [re]decorating. All of the things you can do with colors, themes, fabrics and furniture are endless. It's like you've got a brand new canvas. I love to make things cozy, bright and organized, with lots of personal touches that make it feel like home, from pictures to family heirlooms.

That's what I'm looking forward to with our new flat in London, no matter how impossibly small it turns out to be. And from experience, I know that small can still be charming!

Bon Voyage Weekend

This past weekend was full of celebrations, happiness and a few tears. We were able to see many of our closest friends at our Bon Voyage send-off at Brickyard in San Francisco. I'm so lucky that my parents were able to come up to celebrate too!

Here's the frame that my fabulous friend, Ash, brought to the celebration so that everyone could write a farewell note to us...such a thoughtful idea!
My mom came back up on Sunday and after packing up a bit, we headed Terzo, our favorite spot for inspired shared plates and Paul Dolan chardonnay (do try it!).

Now with one week left, it's on to packing!

Mini City Bucket List

As my time in San Francisco comes to a close (just 2 weeks from yesterday), I've been thinking about places in the city I haven’t seen and restaurants I haven’t been to. So, here's a list of things I would love to do before I go. Ideas welcome, please!

Tour the city in a Go Car
Try Bi-Rite's Salted Caramel ice cream
Watch a film alfresco at Dolores Park
Grab a slice at Delfina Pizzeria
 Run the Lyon Street Steps
  Sample Flour + Water's pasta
Dance all night at Ruby Skye

Currently Craving

I'm back from my trip to LA and glad to be in San Francisco - I really do love this city. Although LA has its charms in the form of great restaurants, trendy boutiques, white sand beaches and celeb sightings, it just can't top San Francisco's inviting culture.

Whenever I return from a trip, I almost always seem to have more things on my "to get" list...and these aren't essentials, they're just things I would love/need/have to have! Here are just a few...

When I was searching for bridesmaids gifts, I came across these fabulous Alphabet Rings by Catbird on one of my fave wedding blogs, Once Wed (must read for all brides-to-be!). Priced at $88, these gold baubles come in every letter and an adorable heart shape.

I’ve been eyeing this Farmer’s Egg Crate from Anthropologie for longer than I’d like to say. It’s durable and retro, and would make whipping up a weekend brunch look a lot better.

This Santa Barbara No. 36 by Souvenir Aquiesse candle is so lovely and calming. My good friend gave one to me at my bridal shower back in May to remind me and my husband of where we met (back at UCSB…go Gauchos!). It comes in lots of other scents, but they can’t top Santa Barbara’s honeysuckle/blossom/musk deliciousness. It’s available at Bloomingdales.

Grey is a perfect neutral polish color for late goes with anything and looks edgy yet not too dark. I'm loving (and currently wearing) this cool shade by OPI called You Don't Know Jacques.

What are you craving right now?

The Fiat

Pint-sized cars hold a special place in my heart – from the SmartCar to the Mini Cooper to the Fiat – they are just so cute. I’ve always wanted a little car and am hoping we can rent (or buy) one in London. We even used a cream-colored Mini Cooper as our getaway car at our wedding!

I’m sure you’ve seen commercials for the Fiat 500, which is the newest version of the iconic compact Italian car. It starts at $15,500 (about $4,600 less than the base Mini Cooper). Isn’t it adorable?

It doesn’t, however, have quite the same authentic appeal as the older model of the Fiat below. Love that deep yellow color.

Old or new, I’ll take either version :)

I'm off to LA for the weekend....hoping for some sun, beach time and hopefully a trip to Toast, my fave brunch spot in West Hollywood. Wouldn't mind a stop in Santa Barbara either for Tupelo Junction's fried chicken salad!
